Summer Meals Strategy Session
Join Us for a Summer Meals Strategy Session… And a Lovely Lunch at the Scenic Chart House.
January 26, 2016 |
The New Jersey Food for Thought Campaign, in partnership with the New Jersey Department of Agriculture will host a roundtable discussion to explore ways your community can expand your 2017 summer meals program -- and claim more federal dollars to feed hungry children.
This meeting will bring together leaders in identified Northern New Jersey communities that have strong school breakfast programs and are also providing summer meals. During this interactive discussion, we will share challenges and successful strategies to reach many more children during the summer and earn increased federal reimbursements.
Topics include:
- Engaging the community and recruiting new sites,
- Improving the quality of meals served,
- Conducting effective community outreach, and
- Meeting other operational challenges.
New Jersey Department of Agriculture officials will be on hand to offer other solutions for improving management of the Summer Food Service Program.
