Dear Supporter,

Advocates for Children of New Jersey today called on the Governor and state Legislature to reduce the child care waiting list, expand preschool, feed hungry school children and fund tax credits to low-income workers in this year’s state budget.

Please join us in sending a message to the governor, Legislature and state officials to make it a “Jersey Comeback” for kids.

Today, ACNJ released its annual review of how the proposed state budget treats children and families.

Read Investing in the Future: How Children Fare in the NJ Budget to learn more about the spending proposal for child care, preschool, school breakfast and tax credits.

The prolonged economic recession has left many more families struggling to meet their children’s basic needs. No longer is a full-time job with a steady paycheck, health insurance and retirement benefits the norm. For many families, the struggle back to firm financial ground will likely be long and painful.

If we are in the middle of a Jersey comeback, then surely children should be the first to benefit.

Send a message today!

Sincerely,

Cecilia Zalkind
Executive Director
