New Jersey has an historic opportunity to expand health coverage to our neediest residents -- but we have to convince Gov. Christie that this is a wise move for New Jersey.

You can help.

As an organization, you can join 30 other organizations across New Jersey that have signed on to a letter urging Christie to implement Medicaid expansion, under the Affordable Care Act (ACA).

Sign the letter.

Individuals can also urge Christie to expand coverage by signing this petition from the NJ for Health Care Coalition.

There is no time to waste. New Jersey must agree now to expand coverage starting in 2014 so the federal government will pay 100 percent of the cost of insuring about 300,000 uninsured New Jersey residents for the first three years. (After that, the feds' share gradually reduces to 90 percent.)  Without this extension, these low-income residents will remain uninsured, without access to quality healthcare and taxing our hospital system by being forced to use charity care.

Please help today.
