Tax Returns Give Quick Path to Health Coverage for Kids

New Jersey is again using the NJ state tax form to help identify uninsured children and enroll those eligible into NJ FamilyCare. Working together we can continue to make sure that all New Jersey children have health insurance.

Parents who indicate their child is uninsured on box 13 on the NJ tax form will receive a 1-page, “express application” to get health coverage for their children through NJ FamilyCare.

New Guide Helps Youth in Foster Care

The statewide Children in Court Improvement Committee recently completed a guide for youth living in foster care or other state programs. Entitled Helping You Transition to Adulthood: Resources for New Jersey’s Youth, the guide includes resources in the areas of education, health, personal growth, finances and employment and provides lists and questions to guide youth transitioning out of state care. Those helping youth will find the guide useful too.
