Dear Supporter,
This September, thousands of New Jersey children arrived at kindergarten ill-prepared because they were denied a high-quality preschool education that can help them succeed in school. ACNJ is launching a coordinated, sustained campaign to convince state lawmakers and the governor to finally fund preschool expansion, as mandated in the 2008 school funding law.
We need your help! We have a coalition working to raise this issue during the campaign season and advocate for funds in next year’s state budget. Please take this short survey to tell us how you are able to help. We’ve provided a menu of action steps, many of which require very little time commitment but can make a big difference for kids.
Take the survey now.
Support Federal Plan
In addition, we are part of a national effort to drum up support for a federal plan that would expand preschool and other early childhood programs across the nation. Congress is now back in Washington D.C. after the summer break. So this is a great time for us advocates to speak out!
Please contact your Congress members and urge them to make a federal early learning plan one of their top priorities. It only takes a minute or two to send a letter to your representative today.
Thank you for your help in raising your voice to help New Jersey’s children.
Sincerely,
Cecilia Zalkind
Executive Director
