Grow NJ Kids: First Steps Toward Quality Child Care

New Jersey’s new effort to improve child care quality is a good first step, but needs to go farther to ensure that young children receive the best possible care during their most formative years, according to a new report by Advocates for Children of New Jersey.

The report, Grow NJ Kids: First Steps Toward Quality Child Care, details the state’s plan to implement a “Quality Rating and Improvement System” (QRIS) to give parents a reliable source of information about child care programs and help child care providers improve the quality of care they offer.

Haven’t registered yet for a Kids Count forum?

There’s still time. ACNJ is holding forums across the state to help county leaders, service providers, advocates and others use data to identify and respond to emerging needs of children in each county. These hands-on sessions provide an opportunity for people working in different areas of child well-being to come together for in-depth discussions about how they can work together to improve the lives of children in their county.
