Creating a community response to hunger

Please join us for the release of our child nutrition report in Atlantic City on Oct. 20 at 1 p.m. In addition to tracking our progress on school breakfast, this year’s report looks at other child nutrition programs and how communities can work together to feed children all year long, while bringing federal dollars into their schools and towns

The event will feature a panel discussion with local and community leaders talking about how communities can work together to bring more federal dollars into their schools and towns to feed hungry children all year long.

Partnerships and Activities for Weekends and Holidays
Oct. 20 – 1:00 p.m

The Afterschool Meal Program can operate any day of the week during the school year, including weekends and school holidays. This means sponsors can better meet children’s nutritional needs, while building stronger, more financially viable afterschool programs. Learn how sponsors and sites have used partnerships and incorporated activities to make weekend and holiday meals successful.

Celebrating National School Lunch Week and CEP Success
Oct. 13 – 3:00 p.m

The Community Eligibility Provision helps schools boast breakfast and lunch participation by allowing high poverty schools to offer meals at no charge to all students—and eligible schools don’t have to wait until next school year to sign up. Join FRAC during National School Lunch week to hear from districts that have successfully implemented community eligibility and tips for rolling the program out during the school year.
