Last week, nearly 200 people attended ACNJ’s 2017 Children’s Summit, focused on raising the visibility of kids’ issues in the upcoming election.
Keynote speaker Bruce Lesley, President of First Focus, presented on the political landscape for kids at the federal level. A panel of NJ political insiders spoke candidly on the barriers to advancing good public policies for children.

Gubernatorial candidates were invited to share their agenda for children at the event. Assemblywoman Pamela Lampitt, on behalf of Phil Murphy (Democrat) and Seth Kaper-Dale (Green Party) delivered remarks. Senate President Steve Sweeney recognized ACNJ’s efforts in making a difference for children.
We shared our
Election Guide, as well as
responses from gubernatorial candidates on how they would improve life for New Jersey kids and families. Thank you to all who attended and special thanks to The Pascale Sykes Foundation and Every Child Matters for helping sponsor this event.
Our event is just the beginning. Now comes the next step! We’re less than 7 weeks away from Election Day and your voice is needed more than ever.
