Dear Supporter:

#FamilesBelongTogether

Read a statement from ACNJ President/CEO Cecilia Zalkind.

One of ACNJ’s hallmarks is its strong commitment to the belief that every child has the right to the stability of a permanent family of his or her own.  But at this very moment, the Department of Homeland Security is taking children into temporary custody while their parents are jailed or deported. In many cases, neither know where the other is.  Read NJ Spotlight article.

This practice hurts children irreparably. The wholesale removal of 2000 children from their parents at our nation's border is counter to the long-held federal and state policy of keeping children and families together. That is why ACNJ and its board members strongly oppose the practice of separating children from their parents by the Department of Homeland Security and Department of Justice, and urges an immediate end to this practice.

Sincerely,

Cecilia Zalkind
President/CEO
