ACNJ's involvement in the Abbott v. Burke Supreme Court decisions set the stage for New Jersey to become a national leader in preschool. Now, every year, more than 58,000 3- and 4-year-olds attend high-quality, public preschool. And the numbers continue to grow.

During the last two years, ACNJ's advocacy efforts have helped pave the way for more 3- and 4-year-olds to receive high quality preschool thanks to additional state dollars. But money alone is not enough. ACNJ is now working with its partners, school districts, child care providers and Head Start to make sure that those new programs are being implemented to best meet the educational needs of more young children.

And after years of working to get it right from the start for our youngest children, ACNJ became a lead partner in New Jersey’s Right from the Start campaign and is a proud partner of the national ZERO TO THREE Think Babies campaign, working to promote enriching early experiences and a strong foundation for development from the start.
