Dear Supporter,

Thank you for registering to attend the release of Newark Kids Count 2011 at the Branch Brook School in Newark this Thursday at 1 p.m.

The event will kick-off with a special presentation from Branch Brook students, followed by a presentation of the Kids Count data by ACNJ’s Executive Director Cecilia Zalkind. This year’s report features a special section on 3rd grade reading scores.

We will also hear from State District Superintendent Cami Anderson, Greg Taylor, president of the Foundation for Newark’s Future, which is administering the Facebook donations, and Mayor Cory Booker.

We expect an informative discussion about ways to improve the health, education and well-being of Newark’s children.

Please note that parking in the area is tight. If you can, take public transportation, carpool or arrive early to find a spot on the street. We chose the Branch Brook School as the event location because its students scored highest on 3rd grade reading tests.

Look forward to seeing you on Thursday.

Sincerely,

Nancy Parello
Communications Director
