Dear Supporter:

A coalition of education, anti-hunger and child advocates has joined together to help school districts ensure that more children eat a healthy breakfast at the start of their school day.  Led by Advocates for Children of New Jersey and the NJ Anti-Hunger Coalition, this statewide committee also has support from the Departments of Education, Agriculture and Health.

As a food services director, you know how important it is for children to start their school day with a healthy meal.  Yet New Jersey ranks nearly last in the nation for its participation in the federal School Breakfast Program.

We are gathering some information to help inform efforts to boost school breakfast participation – and we need your help. Please take just 10 minutes to complete the Food For Thought School Breakfast Survey. We want to know how your district serves breakfast and the barriers you encounter to expanding student participation.

The survey is very brief.  Please take a few minutes to complete the survey now.

If you have questions, please contact Nancy Parello at nparello@acnj.org. Thank you for your help in feeding hungry school children.

Sincerely,

Cecilia Zalkind
Executive Director
Advocates for Children of New Jersey
