Budget negotiations are heating up and child care is receiving growing attention! With your help, we can put even more pressure on our state leaders to find funds to help the more than 10,000 children on a waiting list for child care assistance.

Over the past three years, the waiting list for child care assistance has grown 250 percent, while New Jersey’s total investment in child care has been reduced by $42 million. As more and more working parents struggle to hold down jobs that enable them to provide for their children, they need this help to regain firm financial footing and contribute to our state’s tax base.
This issue is getting statewide attention. The Star-Ledger ran an op-ed today by ACNJ Executive Director Cecilia Zalkind and NJ TV aired a segment last week on the child care issue.
