April 21, 2016 How can you claim federal dollars to feed hungry Salem County children? Find out at the Salem County Food Summit, set for May 13 from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Ware Building, 51 Cherry Road, Woodstown. The summit will serve up important information about federal child nutrition programs, including summer and after-school meals. These programs are severely underutilized, despite the fact that federal dollars are available to cover the cost of feeding children throughout the year. The New Jersey Department of Agriculture and others will provide information about becoming a summer meals sponsor or site, in addition to offering information about other programs. So please join Salem County community partners as they explore ways they can work together to ensure that all children receive the nutrition they need to be healthy and succeed in school. Lunch will be provided.
