Passaic First in State for School Breakfast; Hunterdon Last

Passaic County was first in the state for feeding the most children breakfast at school, while Hunterdon came in last, according to county profiles and rankings released today by Advocates for Children of New Jersey (ACNJ).

Passaic public schools served breakfast to 57 percent of children eligible for free or low-cost breakfast, while Hunterdon served just 16 percent of these students, according to ACNJ’s county profiles. The statewide school breakfast participation rate was 44 percent in April 2016.
