Good news: New Jersey has a child care quality rating system, Grow NJ Kids, that will help working parents find the best care for their young children. By 2022, the state expects all publicly funded child care centers to be a part of Grow NJ Kids.

The reality: A $44 million federal grant aimed at helping child care centers make quality improvements expires at the end of this year. Unless the state steps in, centers in low-income communities will face enormous challenges sustaining these higher quality standards.

We've crunched the numbers. And the math does not add up.

Tell the gubernatorial candidates why quality child care matters!

In November 2017, NJ voters will be electing a new governor, and all seats in the legislature are up for grabs. And the primary is fast approaching…June 6! That's why we're launching our #NJVotes4Kids election campaign. We want to educate all candidates about children’s issues  and ensure that kids' issues are a part of the candidates' campaign platforms. WE NEED YOUR HELP!

Use #NJVotes4Kids to join the discussion on social media and help ACNJ educate candidates about why infants and toddlers need quality child care. Click here to learn more

A message is best heard when we say it all together. Thank you for being a voice for kids!

Sincerely,

Cecilia Zalkind
ACNJ President & CEO

Join us for the NJ Kids Count annual report release on May 22nd.  We've invited all gubernatorial candidates to attend and speak to the audience about the children’s issues on their agendas.
