Dec. 12, 2017

Who: Advocates For Children of New Jersey
New Jersey Food for Thought Campaign

What: ACNJ will release its 7th annual report on school breakfast participation at schools across New Jersey, along with county fact sheets with district-level data for all schools with at least 20 percent students qualified for free and low-cost school meals.

Where: Electronic.

When: Tuesday, Dec. 12 at 12:01 a.m.

Why: The federal School Breakfast Program provides funds to schools to ensure all students begin their day with the nutrition they need to concentrate and learn. New Jersey had long lagged in tapping into these dollars to feed hungry students, but has made significant progress in recent years. The annual report and data sheets measure statewide participation, while spotlighting districts that are still feeding a fraction of students who could benefit from this assistance.

EMBARGOED COPIES OF THE NEWS RELEASE, REPORT AND COUNTY DATA FACT SHEETS ARE AVAILABLE. CONTACT: Nancy Parello, nparello@acnj.org, (908) 399-6031.
